Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use this website, book a counselling session, or enrol in any Sagar Path Academy course. Please read them before paying anything.

1. What we are

Sagar Path Academy is an independent career guidance and coaching platform. We are not affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU), the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), or any shipping company. Course names and company names are used only to describe the preparation we provide. For the latest government rules, eligibility norms, medical standards and approved institutes, please always refer to the official DG Shipping website (dgshipping.gov.in) and the official IMU website (imu.edu.in).

2. What we provide

  • Career counselling and guidance sessions with experienced maritime professionals
  • Structured IMU CET preparation, mock testing and performance analysis
  • Interview, communication and sponsorship-readiness training
  • Study material, question banks and preparation resources
  • Ongoing career mentorship as described in each course

3. What we do not provide, and do not promise

  • We do not guarantee any IMU CET rank, score, college seat, sponsorship offer, placement or job. These are decided by the Indian Maritime University, by colleges and by shipping companies — not by us.
  • We do not conduct pre-sea training, and we do not issue any DG Shipping approved certificate.
  • We do not act as a recruitment agent and we never charge a fee on behalf of any shipping company.
  • Medical fitness, including eyesight and colour vision, is determined by DG Shipping approved medical examiners. Our guidance on medical standards is informational only.

4. Fees and payment

  • The career counselling booking fee is ₹150, paid by UPI to 9636263149@hdfc.
  • Course fees are as published on the courses page at the time of enrolment. The Founding Batch price for the Preparation Booster applies to the first 50 students of the founding cohort and reverts afterwards.
  • Fees are payable in Indian Rupees. Instalment options, where available, are agreed in writing before enrolment.
  • Fees do not include IMU CET application fees, medical examination costs or college fees.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information in all forms, including marks and medical declarations.
  • Attend live sessions and complete assessments; we cannot help a student who does not participate.
  • Do not record, copy, resell or redistribute our study material, mock papers or class recordings. All of it remains our intellectual property.
  • Treat mentors, faculty and other students with basic respect in all sessions and groups.

6. Access and conduct

Access to classes and materials is personal to the enrolled student and may not be shared. We may suspend access, without refund, in cases of material sharing, abusive conduct or repeated disruption.

7. Schedule changes

We may reschedule individual sessions where necessary — mentors are serving officers and are occasionally at sea. Where a session is rescheduled, we give as much notice as possible and provide a recording or a replacement session.

8. Limitation of liability

Our total liability in connection with any course is limited to the fee you paid for that course. We are not liable for indirect losses, including missed admissions, rejected sponsorships or medical disqualifications.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan have exclusive jurisdiction.
